How to take the examination

The special entrance examination for international students

  • The selection process for the special entrance examination for international students will be by examination of documents and an interview.
  • For those international students who pass the special entrance examination, their 250,000 yen enrolment fee will be discounted to 100,000 yen.
  • We are planning to reduce course fees by 30% for privately financed international students who pass the special entrance examination and perform exceedingly well.

Application eligibility

You must fulfill all of the following requirements to be eligible to apply:

  1. You must not have Japanese citizenship
  2. You have completed 12 years of school education overseas, and be eligible to enter university in that country, or the equivalent.
  3. You can acquire or renew status of residence under the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act
  4. You have satisfied at least one of the following four requirements.
  • Scored 200 or more on the Japanese University Admission Exam for International Students (EJU).
  • Scored 180 or more on the Japanese University Admission Exam for International Students (EJU) and you submit a letter of recommendation from the Japanese school or a vocational college where you are enrolled.
  • Scored N2 or higher on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).
  • Those who cannot score N2 or above on the JLPT must submit a letter of recommendation from the Japanese school or a vocational college where enrolled.
  • ※Test results after April 2017 are valid

*When applying for the EJU, please select “University Entrance Examination” as the reason for taking the examination.

Whether successful or not, all applicants will be notified by post. For successful applicants, they will also be sent the required documents for completing their enrollment.
