  1. Tuition fee, maintenance fee, laboratory practical fee and miscellaneous fees can be split into two payments to be made within the first and second payment windows.
  2. Extracurricular fee is for the new students' orientation camp (all students must participate) which takes place after entering the university, and includes fees for a two-day-one-night hotel stay and transportation cost. Please note that depending on the faculty, the extracurricular activities may be without overnight stays.
  3. The breakdown of the miscellaneous fees includes ¥10,000 for Parents' Association, ¥10,000 for Mutual Support Fee (including insurance fee for injuries sustained during learning), and ¥5,000 for alumni fee.
  4. From the second year onwards, tuition fee, maintenance fee and laboratory practical fee will be adjusted annually taking into consideration factors such as inflation.

Scholarships

Reduction/Exemption of Entrance Fee

  • Successful applicants of our special entrance exam (international students) will have their entrance fee reduced from ¥250,000 to ¥100,000.
  • There is a system for exemption of entrance fee for students who are siblings of existing students, or children and siblings of alumni members.

An overview of the system is as follows:

  1. Eligibility: Siblings of existing students at Surugadai University, or children and siblings of past graduates of Surugadai University.
  2. Exemption Amount: ¥250,000 for entrance fee (Year 2017)
  3. Method of Application: Upon entering the university, please submit the application form for exemption of entrance fees within the stipulated time.
  4. Method of Exemption: Upon successful application, the applicant will be notified and the amount will be transferred into the applicant's bank account.

Reduction/Exemption of Tuition Fee for International Students

Tuition Fee Reduction for Self-Funded International Students

Tuition fee will be reduced for self-funded international students with excellent results. In 2015, 68 out of 72 international students had their tuition fee reduced. For 2017, successful applicants of our special entrance exam (international students) are expected to be given a 30% reduction in tuition.

Scholarships from Foundations and Other Civilian Bodies (For International Students)

The university will recommend students for a number of scholarships.
