Studies Abroad

Surugadai University offers students very attractive study abroad programs. Indeed, we actively encourage all students to broaden their intellectual curiosity, open wide their minds, and make a commitment to learn about the world outside Japan. Whether the student grasps this opportunity depends entirely on him, but he is strongly recommended to take full advantage of the study-abroad programs which Surugadai University has in place. Both the exchange and dispatch programs are long-term study periods of between six months and one full year.

Long-term Study Abroad Program

Surugadai University has appealing, long-term exchange and dispatch programs that encourage students to make full use of university and research facilities abroad. In a special provision designed to reduce financial burdens, the university provides generous grants to students who have been selected for and are deemed likely to succeed in both types of programs, either for half a year or one full year.

- Surugadai University will bear any additional tuition cost for students selected to study at universities abroad (beyond the payment normally required for regular class attendance at Surugadai University).

- Up to 40 credits in a one-year program and up to 20 credits in a half-year program abroad are recognized by Surugadai University and transferable towards the total number of credits required for graduation.

- Course hours that a student spends at a university abroad are also counted towards graduation at Surugadai University. This means that a student who spends time abroad is still eligible for graduation in the normal four years.

Study abroad programs are presently available at the universities listed below. Students are actively encouraged to take advantage of these programs, which the university is presently in the process of expanding.
