The economics research department (leading to a master's degree) has been established in the form of the original graduate school, to educate highly qualified research graduates. With the rapid growth in technological innovations and in the complexity and availability of economic information, however, there is now an urgent need for specialized professionals who have expert knowledge and ability. In order to respond to these modern demands, our greatest goal is to ready such specialists for the challenges that lie ahead.
We offer one study major that integrates the fields of economics, accounting, management and information.
And from the complex standpoint of economics and management, we have established separate programs in economics and in business management in order to clarify each specialization, that of economics and that of management.
The economics program leads to a master's degree in economics while the business management program leads to a master's degree in business management.
An increasing number of students, both those newly graduated as well as working members of society, are studying in the graduate school to gain qualifications that best meet the demands of our rapidly changing society.
To help people, if they wish, to study and work simultaneously, we have set up lectures both during the daytime and in the evening. Adults who pass special entrance examinations are eligible, furthermore, to receive instruction beyond the usual time limits specified for graduation, thereby making any long-term plans they may have easier to fulfill.
As the graduate school of the local area, the economics research department especially welcomes people living and working in the immediate district of Hanno. We wish to contribute towards the enrichment of our community and society as a whole, and respond to the many requests for the chance of a lifelong education. The department of economic research opens its doors and warmly welcomes those energetic members of society who have that overriding desire to succeed in study.
We hope that people in the community will select from our department's curriculum subjects that stimulate their interest and make them an integral part of their lifelong education.
It should be noted, further, that students are able to include the credits they gain upon completion of these courses towards a subsequent admission to the regular graduate school.
