Faculty of Economics

Education Concept of the Faculty of Economics

Our main goal on the education imparted in the educational concept of our university - positive character building through devoted education – is to mature his or her humanity up, while respecting the individuality of each student. Since establishment of the Faculty of Economics, we have established and have continued to promote small-group instruction. We believe that small-group instruction is the ideal way to educate students destined to render services in every facet of society.

The Faculty of Economics' Traits

Why a Department of Economics and Management?

The Faculty of Economics and the 21st century

- The world witnesses widespread pollution of the global environment, a rapid population growth, terrorism, and outbreaks of war. On the other hand Japan faces its own internal problems. They are drastic decline in the birthrate and an aging of its population. The Faculty of Economics is increasingly required to prepare students to deal with all such urgent problems that now confront our society.

The education which considered the viewpoint of the learner

- The field of economics and of business have been separated into the departments of economics and business management. Issues arising from the sudden spike in the price of oil, for example, cannot be fully understood without an analysis from both the viewpoint of economics (reasons for the rise in oil prices) and of management (how society should deal with the effects of this increase). The student in the economics and business management department is directed to make a comprehensive study of all such aspects from differing viewpoints.

Education aims of the Economics Management Department

Japan has now entered an era of unprecedented change. Our goal is to educate individuals who can respond to adjustments in our modern society, in particular, professionally minded people who are determined to make positive contributions to their respective communities.

We concentrate on increasing student's opportunities of finding gainful employment through systematic career guidance using in-depth and up-to-date information. To ensure that we can always give as much care as possible to the student, we have drawn up a curriculum of tutorials in small classes.

We have established seven major courses of specialization in order to enhance our students' ability in this very complex 21st century to bring solutions to problems encountered in the fields. That is environment, social welfare, international affairs, politics, finances, accounting, business and information.
